As a responsible landlord Trivallis is serious about keeping tenants safe in their homes. Legally, we must make sure that all gas and solid fuel appliances in our properties are safe to use. That is why all appliances owned by Trivallis – such as fires and central heating boilers – have a safety check and service every year.   

Your free annual gas safety check

The safety check and service is carried out completely free of charge to tenants by engineers from Trivallis.

It is vital that the safety check takes place.  

This annual service and check will make sure that you and others are not at risk and will reduce the likelihood of your central heating system breaking down in the future.  Gas appliances that are not serviced can produce poisonous carbon monoxide gas, which can cause sickness and even kill.  You cannot see or smell carbon monoxide and, each year, more than fifty men, women and children in the UK die from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.

An appointment is made each year for an engineer from Trivallis to check the appliances in each tenant's home. The Trivallis engineer will also carry out a visual check on appliances that you own – such as your cooker – and tell you if we think they need attention.   

Please make sure that an adult will be present to let the Trivallis engineer into your home at the time of your annual safety test.  If the appointment is not suitable, you must telephone 03000 030 888 to make a new appointment. 

The safety check is so important that Trivallis would take tenants to court and, in some cases, even force entry if tenants did not arrange to let the Trivallis engineer in to their homes.  The tenant would have to pick up the very expensive bill if Trivallis took such action.
