The winners of Trivallis’ Sheltered Scheme Quiz have been announced as Springfield in Ynyshir, Fernbank House in Graig, and Church View Close in Brynna.
Trivallis has 23 sheltered housing schemes available to people over the age of 60 throughout Rhondda Cynon Taff. Residents of the schemes took part in a virtual quiz with the prize of a bespoke decorated Christmas window on offer to the top three placed schemes.
Springfield in Ynyshir, Fernbank House in Graig, and Church View Close in Brynna were announced as the winners with each scheme having Christmas themed decorations added to a window by Scheme Coordinator, Sian Jenkins.
Lisa Bray, Trivallis’ Sheltered and Supported Housing Manager, said: “Thank you to everyone who made the quiz possible, despite many challenges, and a big well done to the winners!
“A huge thank you also goes to Sian, the Scheme Coordinator who created and attached these bespoke window decorations herself. They look so lovely and bring some Christmas joy to our schemes at a time when we all need it most.”
This work forms part of Trivallis’ aim to reduce loneliness and isolation amongst sheltered scheme residents. Other projects have seen Penrhys Primary School pupils designing Christmas cards for residents of the nearby Nebo Scheme in Ystrad and a partnership with Digital Communities Wales to offer a loan scheme of digital devices such as tablets to sheltered residents, as well as a support package with information and guidance of getting the most out of using the technology to stay connected.
