Trying to find things to do to keep the kids occupied this summer? Look no further, we have found some fun days out around Rhondda Cynon Taf and Cardiff that all the family will enjoy! 

 


The Big Welsh Bite – Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August  

Have a food-filled day out at The Big Welsh Bite, back for the first time since 2019. As well as the tasty treats on offer, the weekend will be packed with shows, stalls and other exciting attractions.

Aqua Park, Cardiff – 23rd June – 1st September 

Visit Wales’ biggest Aqua Park in Cardiff Bay for a fantastic wet and wild day out! Reduce the cost by pre-booking online or go as a group and get a bigger discount.

Swimming at RCT Leisure Centres – School Holidays 

Beat the holiday boredom with free leisure access at any of RCT Leisure for Life leisure centres during every school holiday. Under 16s and accompanying carers can enjoy free swimming across RCT.

Cardiff Castle 

Become a Queen or King for the day and discover what is behind the doors of Cardiff’s infamous Castle. Whether you choose the full tour experience, or wander around the outside of the grounds through Bute Park, you’re guaranteed a magical day out!

Barry Sidings Country Park 

With trails taking you into the surrounding mountains, bike hire, adventure playground, delicious café and loads of open space, Barry Sidings Countryside Park is a winner for all ages. Get out in the summer sun – but don’t forget your sun cream!

Cynon Valley Museum 

Go back to your roots and discover the fascinating history of the people who worked and lived in the Cynon Valley. Take part in the Dragon Detective Trail, or head to Creative Corner to draw a masterpiece. Suitable for all the family, this is a great day out!
