FOR Cardiff works in partnership with businesses across Cardiff City to transform them into Safe Places.
Safe Places is a scheme where places located around the city are a safe, accessible location that provides support for anyone feeling intimidated, at risk or scared.
Whether it’s just to have a conversation, to call a friend, ask someone to call a taxi, or even dial 999, these are places where a friendly face is guaranteed, and support will always be provided.
Once a business is signed up as a Safe Place, they are added to the Safe Places app, where users can access and identify the network of open doors available to them. Safe Places can also be easily identified by a sticker in their window.
Safe Places is free for anyone to use and get support when they need it the most.
If you need support, you can download the Safe Places app which is free to do, both from the App Store and Google Play.
The app has a ‘Get me to my nearest Safe Place Now’ (panic button) which immediately directs you to the nearest open Safe Place. If no Safe Place is located within a 15-minute walk it will automatically offer to call the nonemergency 101 number to get help over the phone.
You can download the app on the App Store by searching ‘Safe Places’ or click here.
You can download the app on Google Play by searching ‘Safe Places’ or click here.
