As your landlord we are responsible for making sure your home is safe to live in. There are certain checks we need to complete so these things are in a good working condition.
We regularly carry out routine services and maintenance checks to:
- Reduce the amount of breakdowns or problems
- Keep everything running smoothly and in tip top condition
- Ensure it is safe and can continue to be used
It is really important you let us into your property to be able to complete our checks. If we can’t gain access your home could become unsafe to live in.
The type of equipment in your home will depend on what work we need to do. There are six different areas we look at in particular, they are:
- Gas safety
- Electrical safety
- Fire safety
- Water management
When one of our engineers visits your home, to do this work, it is known as a compliance check. These checks are a legal requirement which means we must be allowed in to take a look at and test things like; your boiler, electrics, specialist baths and toilets and, in some cases, stair lifts.
