Trivallis is a finalist in two categories of this year’s UK wide ‘Housing Heroes Awards’.
The awards, which are jointly organised by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing Magazine, recognise the hard work of the teams and individuals in housing associations across Britain that are making a real difference to their communities.
Trivallis is shortlisted in the ‘Central Team of the Year’ for the work by the Organisational Development directorate to create a set of terms and conditions for staff that are fair, engaging and affordable.
Trivallis Estates and Communities has been shortlisted in the ‘Inclusive Team of the Year’ category for supporting people from the community into employment opportunities.
Linda Jeynes works in TEC and supports many of the people who come there looking for employment opportunities. She said: “Trivallis’ TEC team has developed a job training programme to offer real, on the job, work experience for unemployed people who live in RCT.
“We’re proud of our holistic approach when dealing with people. When somebody comes to volunteer we sit down with them to determine what the best way to help is, not one size fits all.
“Help comes in the form of involving our money saving team who advise on budgeting, debt and available welfare and equipping volunteers with skills they need to find employment. We give tools, training, support and opportunities that encourage self-reliance.
“Being a finalist in these national awards gives deserved recognition to those who work so hard to give people a chance, regardless of their background. We are making a real difference to lives and we are really proud.”
Winners of these awards will be revealed at ceremony which is being held to open this year’s Housing Conference in Manchester on Monday 25th June.
