A Statement regarding the old Boot Hotel, Aberdare

UPDATE 9/11/18:

UPDATE ahead of Sunday's parade:

TEDS Developments LTD has now moved the hoarding outside the former Boot Hotel back as far as possible, whilst still ensuring it is safe for spectators and those taking part in the Remembrance Day parade and service on Sunday 11th November.

You may note that the hoarding still protrudes in one area, this is due to a hole in the foot way where a new electricity main has just been installed. It would not be safe to leave that area exposed.

We wish everyone the best of luck for the parade and service and will have staff in attendance on the day to pay our respects.

Initial statement:

We have received a number of comments regarding the hoarding around the building works currently taking place on the old Boot Hotel in Aberdare town centre.

Site safety and the hoarding is the responsibility of the contractor, TEDS Developments LTD. We have asked that they look into how to maximise space for the Remembrance Day Parade on Sunday 11th November 2018 whilst still ensuring the safety of the people who will be in the town that day.

Due to the fact that this is a building site, there are still some dangers posed to members of the public. For this reason, the contractors will not be able to completely remove the hoarding, particularly with so many people expected to be in the town centre on this day.

We have asked that the contractors push back the hoarding at the front of the building ahead of the parade to create more space for the public, whilst still making sure that people’s safety is paramount.

We understand that this is a day that means a lot to many people and a number of our staff attend the parade annually. We want to reassure the public that we are totally respectful of the parade and all that it stands for.

Possible disruption around Glyntaff Monday 29th October.

Unfortunately Trivallis has recently had a bereavement of an extremely well thought of member of staff.

As a result, we anticipate that the funeral, which is being held at Glyntaff Crematorium on Monday 29th October, will be very well attended.

Parking at the crematorium and the surrounding area is limited so, out of courtesy, we would like to inform you of possible disruption with parking between the hours of 12.30pm and 2.30pm.

Our aim is not to cause any disruption and we have instructed our staff to be considerate as to where and how they park. Should you have any issues or if you would like to discuss this further, please contact our Head of Customer Services on: 01443 494532 and ask to speak to Trudy Hawkins.
