Apprenticeships allow you to earn while you learn. Through our Trivallis Futures apprenticeship scheme, you can gain a recognised qualification and get valuable work experience whilst earning the Living Wage (over and above the Government standard).
Through Trivallis Futures, we offer the following apprenticeships:
- Trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry etc.)
- Homes & Neighbourhoods
- Office-based (such as administration, IT, communications and customer service)
Stephen Wilson was a self-employed roofer. After a decline in work, he decided to try his hand at volunteering. In 2011, Steve joined Trivallis as a volunteer yard supervisor. Through Trivallis’ development programme, Stephen undertook training and worked his way up the career ladder to a managerial role. He said: “I’m now a Trivallis surveyor and have recently completed my Chartered Institute Of Builders Chartership, which is an internationally recognised accreditation. “If I can do it, I think anybody can, with the support you’d receive from Trivallis.”
Emily Johnson started her apprenticeship when she was 21 years old after spending three years at University studying Geography. Emily said: “I chose to do an apprenticeship so I could work and learn at the same time, whilst also building a career. “My day to day role varies as a Homes and Neighbourhoods apprentice. I’ve learnt loads of new skills and had loads of support from people across Trivallis and I feel it’s really set me up for a career in housing.”
James Jones lives in one of Trivallis’ homes in Glyncoch. In 2014, after being unemployed for 5 years, he started his apprenticeship. James said: “Choosing a Trivallis apprenticeship meant I could gain a qualification whilst earning a competitive salary. It’s helped me to develop a number of administration skills as well as my confidence. “I completed an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and have since gained a permanent full time role at Trivallis as Learning & Development Systems Administrator. “I’d definitely recommend a Trivallis Futures apprenticeship to anyone looking to take the next step on their career ladder.”
